The Farrington Inn
About This Spot
Settled just off the A37 in the gentle English countryside, The Farrington Inn offers a welcoming refuge from the pace of everyday life. This modest country pub carries a quietly comforting air — the sort of place where the bar chatter feels like an old friend’s voice and the seating invites you to slow down and settle in. It isn’t trying to be anything flashy; instead, it embraces its rural roots with a steady, unpretentious warmth that makes lingering over a meal feel like a natural moment rather than an event.
Inside, the atmosphere moves at a gentle rhythm. Whether you’re stopping in for a solo pint or gathering with family, there’s a steady stream of friendly faces and a hum of calm conversation that floats between tables, all accompanied by the soft clinks and crackles of a well-loved pub at work. The staff offer attentive, easy-going service that lets you feel both looked after and comfortably independent.
Eating here is a genuine, hearty experience made for sharing and savouring without rush. The kitchen leans into traditional pub fare with a thoughtful touch—whether it’s a plate of perfectly battered fish and chips, delicate lamb chops, or a generous ploughman’s spread. Classics come with an honest, satisfying quality that speaks to simple, reliable ingredients rather than artifice. And there’s an evident care in their breakfast offerings, served all day for those who like to greet the morning with something substantial.
The drink selection complements the food gracefully, from local ales poured with an expert hand to crisp lagers that offer a refreshing counterpoint. You’ll find yourself appreciating the unassuming joy of a pint held in a frozen glass, making the countryside pause a little sweeter still.
Above all, The Farrington Inn invites you to experience the ease of a countryside gathering spot — where the food is honest, the service genuinely warm, and the pace unhurried. It’s a local spot where you don’t have to think twice about staying a bit longer, letting the afternoon slip quietly by.

Quality pub out in the country along the A37. Really impressed. Not the prettiest pub but excellent value for money. Excellent breakfast at £8. Generous portion all grilled. Best pint of Amstel I've had since being in Amsterdam; excellent pour, good quality, and even in a frozen glass. Just brilliant. Wish I could have stayed for a few more.

Amazing food, huge ploughman’s which was tasty, amazing quality and we couldn’t finish it between 2 of us. Staff very attentive and friendly, cider great, we will definitely be back. Atmosphere quiet country pub ish - spot on. Thanks

My partner and I (two Aussies who have never had good fish and chips) had our first proper fish and chips here with the curry sauce and mushy peas. Absolutely slapped. We actually haven’t had a better one since - you set the standard high!

Nice local pub. Lots of nice staff. We were about to order drinks at the bar, and some really nice food, without any issues at all. The food came out with half hour which is a perfect time to wait. There were a couple of parties going one, but it was nice and calm, but with a friendly atmosphere. The food was really nice and good value. Burgers were huge, the fish and chips were perfect. Chicken tikka was tasty and the chicken melt was cooked to perfection. Always nice to have a good pub to visit. Thank you.
